Flak Kaserne, Augsburg
Flak was constructed in the mid-1930s as the barracks for a Luftwaffe Antiaircraft Artillery Regiment, but never actually housed a full regiment. After the end of World War II, Flak Kaserne was used as a headquarters for UNRRA (the United Nations Rehabilitation and Relief Organization). During the early 1950s, the present hospital was established there. Part of the kaserne housed the Division HQ of the 24th Infantry Division plus a divisional MP company, a divisional signal battalion, and various other smaller units.
