In a scene right out of Twelve O'Clock High, B-17s at an English airbase wait for their next mission as a small squadron of sheep graze beside the runway. Sheep made excellent lawnmowers on the airfields of the 8th and 9th U.S. Air Forces since they were quiet, easily maintained, and were no danger to nearby petrol, bomb, and ammo dumps.
