SUPPLY DROP (45 K)

Supply Drop ...

Liberators of the 44th Bomb Group fly a supply drop over the Dutch-Belgian border in March 1945. The photo clearly shows gliders used during earlier operations, probably Market-Garden. At right, someone has circled wreckage on the ground under the bombers and written "Gliders crash land every which way in fields." At left, supply chutes (labeled by the same hand) trail away from the passing B-24s. From Bert Speranza's collection.
