HORSE WITH STRETCHER

One-Horsepower Ambulance ...

   A U.S. Army corpsman poses with a specially designed field stretcher mounted on a horse. The use of horses and mules to transport wounded was prevalent in the American Civil War and in World War I, but saw only limited use during WW II.
