July 24, 2004: Information Sought
about 430th AAA Automatic Weapons Battalion

Don [last name withheld] writes:   " ... I am looking for any information on the 430th AAA AW Bn. My father served with this unit for the Normandy invasion, in the Battle of the Bulge, and through the rest of the war. I know he received training at Fort Fisher. Dad, like many WW II vets, rarely spoke about it, so we don't know much more. Sadly, he is a victim of Alzheimer's, and has been unable to communicate for several years. I would love to find a unit history, or any memorabilia about this unit. His grandchildren should know as much as they can about this quiet hero."

Answers:   Please send your information directly to Don.
