Journalist Lee Miller, covering WW II for Vogue, had teamed up with photographer David E. Scherman of LIFE Magazine on numerous assignments during the war. Above, Scherman captures Miller in the bathtub in Adolf Hitler’s apartment in Munich on April 30, 1945, getting the stink of the previous day’s visit to Dachau off her.
