Francis M. Dorsey (Frank), of Stony Point, NY, affectionately known as Mickey, passed away on May 7, 2019. Born in NYC on January 1, 1925 to Francis and Catherine Dorsey. At age 18 he enlisted in the Army and served in WW II in the 225th Searchlight Battalion. He married Catherine in 1950, worked as Chief Superintendent of the North Bronx for the New York City Housing Authority and enjoyed a long active retirement. He belonged to his local VFW post and was instrumental in establishing monuments in Stony Point honoring the Veterans of All Wars. Frank was an historian who loved sharing information and memories of WWII. He enjoyed working on his computer, traveling and going to garage sales. His greatest joys came from his family. He is survived by his wife Catherine, son Randall, daughter Jeryl (Richard Cohen), and grandchildren Karcynn and Eric.
Family will receive friends on Thursday May 9 from 4-8pm at Higgins Funeral Home in Stony Point, NY. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, 10:15am at the funeral home. Followed by Interment at the Frederick Loescher Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
